Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in providing protection systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under significant strikes overnight. A minor died and three other people were injured.

The attacks succeed nights of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
